Villar joins walk for a cause

Batangas City — Former Rep. Cynthia Villar, managing director of the Villar SIPAG, and Batangas Gov. Vilam Santos-Recto led the Walk for A Cause in support of beneficiaries among the youth, indigents and persons with disability.

Joining them were former Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha, City School Superintendent Rommel Bautista, City Social Welfare Adminstration Officer Mila Española, Jesus of Nazareth Hospital director Libio Macatangay, City Councilor Marvey Marino and Alay-Lakad Official Rogelio Talag.

Also visible was 2nd District Representative Hermilando I. Mandanas who is set to run for governor in next year’s polls.

About 1,500 Alay-Lakad participants trekked about 2 kilometers to the City Sports Center where the financia assistance was turned over to the recipients  by Dimacuha, representing his wide Mayor Vilma Abaya-Dimacuha.

The beneficiaries—Mat Vincoy, of Brgy. Libjo, Ariel Dimaano, of Brgy. Soro-Soro, Camille Cortez, and Jomari Aguda, both of Brgy. Balete–all hearing impaired students of the Batangas National High School Special Education received their assistance witnessed by SPED mentors, Maria Victoria Arguelles, Irene Valles-Ibon, Lourdes Dimaandal and Elena Mapa.

Villar pledged P50,000 to bankroll the city’s youth cause while Santos-Recto and Mandanas vowed to pitch in their share.
